This policy explains what Sapphire Coast Runners does with your personal information when you use this website. It's written in plain English, and it's short because this site does very little with your data.

Sapphire Coast Runners is a volunteer run, not-for-profit club. You can contact us about anything on this page at committee@sapphirecoastrunners.com.au.

What this website collects

There are only two ways this site collects anything about you.

The contact form. If you send us a message, we collect your name, your email address, your phone number if you choose to give it, and whatever you write in the message. We use it to reply to you and for nothing else. The message is emailed to the committee and also stored on this website so an enquiry cannot be lost if an email goes astray.

Website analytics. We use Google Analytics to see roughly how many people visit the site and which pages they read. It tells us things like which trail notes are popular, and it never tells us who you are.

What this website does NOT do

This is worth saying plainly, because it is most of what a privacy policy usually covers.

  • This site doesn't sell anything and never asks for payment details.
  • This site has no accounts and no logins for members.
  • We do not send marketing emails from this site, and there's no mailing list to join.
  • We don't sell, rent or share your information with anyone for marketing.

Membership, event entries, the shop and donations are all handled on RevolutioniseSPORT. When you follow one of those links you leave this site, and from that point their own privacy policy covers what happens to your information.

Who else can see it

Only the people who have to see it.

  • The committee read enquiries sent through the contact form.
  • Our web host and website provider keep the site running and can access what is stored on it.
  • Google Analytics receives the anonymous visit data described above. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
  • Cloudflare checks that a real person is submitting the contact form, which is what keeps the committee inbox clear of automated spam.

We will also hand over information if the law requires it.

Cookies

This site sets a small number of cookies: one that keeps the contact form secure, and Google Analytics cookies that count visits. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings - the site will still work, though the contact form may not submit.

How long we keep it

Contact form enquiries are kept while they are useful to the club and then deleted. If you'd like your enquiry removed sooner, email us and we'll do it.

Seeing or deleting your information

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email committee@sapphirecoastrunners.com.au and we'll respond within a reasonable time.

If you're unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Changes

If we change what this site does with your information, we'll update this page.
